Figures anchored to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, State and Area Employment, Hours, and Earnings (seasonally adjusted total nonfarm payrolls), series SMS state total nonfarm payroll employment, seasonally adjusted. Values compare December 2024 with December 2025; employment levels are published in thousands and converted to jobs. Alaska, Hawaii, and D.C. are excluded to match the continental-U.S. scope. BLS values may be revised in later releases.
